At Ginza Shinto we redefine luxury dining – not being stiff and intimidating but rather fluid, engaging and conversational. Partake in our unpretentious, authentic Japanese omakase menu in the comfort of our expansive yet cosy dining spaces.
Formed from the words “Ginza”, which represents the heart of Tokyo and its vibrant and bustling metropolis of modern city life, and “Shinto”, the entrance to sacred shrines in Japanese culture, Ginza Shinto thus embodies the notion of bringing authentic and creative interpretations of Japanese cuisine to Singapore’s similarly busy city life.

Hailing from a family of chefs, it is only natural that Chef Ron would follow in their path. Preferring the interactive sushi counter to a hot kitchen, he was the first to deviate from his lineage of chefs established in Western cuisine to venture into a Japanese establishment at the age of 23.
Mentored by the pioneers Chef Nogawa and late Chef Santoro, who introduced Japanese cuisine to Singapore in the early 1990s, becoming a sushi chef himself has become a lifelong vocation. Since then, Chef Ron has been no stranger to executing exquisite Japanese Omakase and fine Japanese cuisine and has gained over 30 years of experience working the sushi counter under his belt.
He has helmed notable Japanese kitchens across Singapore, namely Pine Tree Club (The Pines Club), Nogawa Restaurant and Tatsuya. He firmly believes that the heart of fine dining lies in the quality of produce. He imbues soul into each course through his creative touches; a philosophy that continues to shape his craft till today. For Chef Ron, Japanese cuisine is like a piece of art, a medium for his creative streaks. He dreams of making his own ceramics to suit the form and function that he desires for his creations one day.
Look past his stern exterior and you’ll find a charismatic and amiable man that guests are comfortable around. When it comes down to food, though, expect his finesse and his meticulous attention for an omakase meal you will not soon forget.
